J. Herbin Rouille d'Ancre (Rusty Anchor Red) Bottled Fountain Pen Ink

In the year 1700, M. Herbin created The "Jewel of Inks" in his little shop on the Rue des Fosses Saint-Germain in Paris. The J. Herbin brand is therefore the oldest name in fine pen inks in the world. J. Herbin inks are pH Neutral and are comprised of All Natural dyes in their fountain pen inks. This natural composition and delicate balance of ingredients is the essence of any fine ink.

"Rouille d'Ancre" is a reference J. Herbin's journeys at sea. The color is inspired by the rust that forms on an anchor that has spent a great deal of time underwater.

Each bottle of 30 ml (1 oz) ink, known as "D bottle pen inks" is elegantly labeled and the bottle features an integrated pen rest area. The "D" refers to the old French unit of measure, "la Demi Courtine".

Please note that ink color swab depicted on our item listing image is for reference only. The actual color of the ink may be subject to variations in manufacturing and computerized scanning quality of the sample.
